This year, The Henry Ford introduces new badge opportunities for Girl Scouts. For adventurous girls. Inquisitive girls. Girls who love science. And technology. And fun. There are badges for every one of them. Inspire a generation of girls who are bold, informed and confident enough to change the world around them at The Henry Ford.
Scout prices includes badge, self-guided itinerary, badge-aligned hands-on activities and admission to the specific program site. One scout leader per troop FREE. Adult chaperone and scout fees apply for each program. Scout price can not be used for other accompanying siblings or youth. Payment for the program is required two weeks prior to the program. Tickets are non-refundable/non-exchangeable.

Listening to the Past... The Story of Henry Ford
Henry Ford literally moved buildings to collect both the stories from his past and stories from the past of other influential people that he admired.Go on a journey with young Henry and his sister Margaret as you explore their past. Get to know Henry through the eyes of his younger sister. Play games in Henry’s treasure trunk.
Gather clues from Henry’s past that will help you to become a storyteller. Let the past become your stage at The Henry Ford.

Local Lore: The Rouge – Past, Present and Future
Discover the impact of the automotive industry on Michigan and the world.
Investigate the stories that fill the historic factory complex and explore the role the Rouge has played in our community and its continued evolution. This program was highly rated by area Girl Scouts and troop leaders alike, who describe it as “unique” and “a rare opportunity.” Don’t miss this fun learning experience.

Taking a Stand: United We Stand
Rosa Parks took a stand by sitting down; now it is your turn to take a stand.
Celebrate Black History Month by exploring the exhibit With Liberty and Justice for
All and by participating in a 30-minute musical and dramatic program about the
Civil Rights Movement, “Minds on Freedom.” Express your views through different hands-on activities, and join women from the past in your first historic vote at Henry Ford Museum.

Car Care: Then and Now
Discover the parts, materials and ideas that were used in the assembly of the car that put America on wheels. Using the simple construction of the Model T as an example, see how continued technology transformations made the automobile what it is today. Learn what the automobile did for women and how marketing was quick to promise freedom to a woman who owns a Ford. Investigate car maintenance, vehicle use and safety and even new environmental designs that speed cars into the future!

Girls in Tech: Careers at The Henry Ford
Discover the tools you will need to be successful in the career that you choose.
Actively, learn about the great need for women in the field of Science and Technology through surprising facts. Meet professional “technical” women working at The Henry Ford. Listen to the stories of how they got their start, their role models, and how they came to discover their passions. Investigate your own career interests, learn important "soft" career skills, such as teamwork, working within groups and thinking on your feet, and even practice interviewing - all of which will help you get the job!

Architecture at The Henry Ford: Building “Green”
Discover the story of the Ford Rouge Complex and its metamorphosis to a greener, cleaner factory. See the largest “green roof” in the world. Learn about LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) architecture and energy conservation.
Express your creativity while designing with the environment in mind by planting a rain garden inspired by the Rouge’s environmental initiative to conserve water.

Discovering Technology at The Henry Ford
Visit both the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village to participate in a unique combo experience to connect today’s technology to innovations from the past. Learn how technology has changed by comparing modern and historic technology, and imagine how we will continue to innovate for the future. Ignite your imagination by visiting Thomas Edison’s famous Menlo Park where he and his team created many new technologies. Use simple historic inventions to make and take a piece of history home with you, while you discover other previous ideas, innovative in their day, that still influence inventors and scientists!

Earth Connections at The Henry Ford: Balancing Industry and Nature
Become a "factory ecologist" by studying the plants, animals and people that make the Rouge unique. Learn about a factory in balance with nature, how an area can change naturally over time and what impact people can have on their environment. Get your hands dirty participating in activities that illustrate the environmental initiatives incorporated at the Rouge. Discover ways you can help your home and community become more connected with the earth around you.

Inventions and Inquiry: Stories of Design, Invention & Creativity
Learn about the process of invention through exploring the Museum, which is filled with the ever-changing influence of technology. Discover past women inventors by participating in our Celebrate Women Inventors Performance Workshop while thinking about your own future career in design and innovation. Learn problem-solving skills, and use them to create your own inventions. From brainstorming an idea to marketing it to the public, creativity has no limits! Included is a unique opportunity to see the special exhibit, Good Design: Stories from Herman Miller.

Heritage Hunt: Collecting Her Stories
Modern gals who take part in this new program will be inspired by the women who came before you! Delve into history to discover how the roles of women have changed over time, and explore the places they lived, their daily chores and the challenges they endured. Investigate your community while exploring historic buildings from different locations in Michigan. Discover your past by collecting recipes, traditions, pictures and, most importantly, the stories from women long ago who are still teaching us lessons today.

The ultimate sleepover! The Great American Museum Experience is a two-day overnight adventure that includes admission to Henry Ford Museum, Ford Rouge Factory Tour and IMAX Theatre or Greenfield Village (Seasonal), meals and facilitated after-hours fun!
